PandaLive (팬더티비): how to watch Korean streamers

PandaLive is a Korean live-streaming platform built around personal broadcasters, the “BJs”. In Korea it goes by 팬더티비 and describes itself as “클래스가 다른 BJ 인터넷방송 플랫폼”, a BJ broadcasting platform “of a different class”. That slogan is why so many people search for the “Panda class” app.

What you find on PandaLive

Most rooms sit in the individual category: one host, a camera and a chat, streaming for hours. Talk, music and game rooms exist but are a small share of what is live at any moment. The site is available in Korean and Japanese, works on desktop and mobile, and advertises a three-second sign-up.

Rooms in the public list are free to enter. Hosts can lock a room with a password, and almost every room has a viewer cap, usually 300 or 1,000 seats. Each host also runs a five-level fan-grade ladder paid in coins: many keep the default names, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond and VIP, and set their own thresholds, from ten coins to 100,000; others rename the levels after their fan club.

19+ rooms

Hosts can flag a room as 19+. Those rooms only open after you sign in and pass PandaLive's adult verification. KBJ Radar never shows a preview of a 19+ room: the host's page lists the schedule and links to the official room, nothing more. You can browse them on the 19+ rooms page.

Promotion rooms

A large part of PandaLive's “hot” list is made of 홍보방, promotion rooms that advertise several hosts at once (their titles are lists of names). They are not individual streamers, so KBJ Radar filters them out and never builds a page for them.

When PandaLive hosts are live

Over the last 30 days the largest number of hosts was live around 12:00, 13:00, 14:00 Korea time (KST, UTC+9). To check a specific host, open her page: the “usual hours” chart shows when we have seen her live, in 15-minute check-ins. The by-hour pages group streamers by the time they usually go live.
